A Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Dr. Ibrahim Wada has said that the coronavirus infection and the resulting illness must be taken very seriously

He said in doing so, people must Keep a distance of about two meters where possible from people, avoid crowds, no unnecessary visits of friends or family to you or you to others.

Outlining other preventive measures , Wada said “Wash your hands and I dare say your face frequently using soap and water. Avoid touching what you don’t have to touch. Use hand gloves where possible but beware you can still move the virus from place to place, meaning still wash your gloved hands frequently

“Use face masks especially when you must stay where there are more than 5 persons in a meeting. This is to avoid you breathing out the virus (most people not tested yet) or inhaling from others. That’s why many countries are banning group meetings

He stressed that it is necessary for more people to be tested and optimistic that governments are working on this. “If you suspect you’re at risk eg exposure to someone who tested positive or has symptoms, isolate yourself from your family and friends If you can get NCDC to test you it’s great otherwise call for advice from a doctor or nurse you know or recommended by others.
