Ramadan lecture; Muslims told to strengthen their relationship with Allah, the people

Muslims have been enjoined to strengthened their relationships with Allah and the people in order to attain piety.

The General manager, Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Lokoja, Alhaji Yahaya Adam gave the advice in Lokoja at the maiden Ramadan lecture organized by Kogi Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria, MMPN.

Ahaji Yahaya who said the call became necessary noted that Ramadan was a period through which Muslims create a stable relationship with Allah saying without close relationship with Allah and humanity the world will remain in chaos.

He advised them not to underrate any act of worship in the month of Ramadan and beyond stressing that Allah has many ways of rewarding his servant.

The NTA GM appreciated the association for the initiatives urging them to renew commitment towards building a formidable structure and prayed God to sustain their efforts.

Speaking on the topic “Virtues of Ramadan” A special adviser to Kogi MMPN Mallam Mubarak Ahmad explained that Ramadan which literarily means intense heat was the Ninth month of Hijra calendar.

According to him all supplications, actions during fasting will be rewarded in ten folds even if the fasting person does nothing but sleeping.

He stated that Ramadan was a period of protection against sins, self discipline and control over physical and emotional desires stressing that who ever feeds a fasting person gets the same reward without reducing the laters reward.

The speaker also said Ramadan increases Spiritual growth, Forgiveness of sins, eagerness to give to those who are in need among others.

Mallam Mubarak of Radio Nigeria PrimeFM, noted that whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seek forgiveness sincerely would be rewarded and have his past sins forgiven because fasting and Quran were intersection between a Muslim and Allah on judgement day.

The speaker mentioned things that spoils fasting to include Intentional vomiting, Vulgar words, immoral behaviors among others.

Earlier, the state coordinator Mallam Muhammad Yabagi who was represented by the Deputy Coordinator Alhaji Abdullsalam Abubakar said the essence of the programme was to bring members closer in unity and more understanding of the religion of Islam.
