The Kogi NGOs Network (KONGONET), has expressed deep concern over the comatose state and non funding of the 32 year state development plan committee initiated by the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
They said the move to develop a state level strategic development plan is indeed a welcome development that was applauded by civil society organizations, civil developmental activists and citizens of the state, however, it seemed the noble idea duly initiated by the state government has long been short-lived due to obviously funding challenges.
The revival and appropriate funding of the committee, would assist it in carrying out the novel assignment.
“The Kogi State 2023 – 2055 (32) years development plan committee should be urgently revived and appropriately funded to carry out the novel assignment.

The briefing was addressed by Ambassador Idris Ozovehe Muraina, Chairperson, KONGONET and Mrs. Ibiteye A. Bola Assistant Secretary, KONGONET
They added that “The state government as a matter urgency through the ministry of water resources should repair and restore the Kogi State Greater Lokoja water project to improve in water supply within the state capital.
“The state government should engage in periodic interaction with the citizens to discuss matters of state importance.
They added that the State Open Government Partnership (OGP) Steering Committee platform should be reactivated, committee members should be officially inaugurated and the State Action Plan draft be validated and disseminated.
