A coalition of Kogi west youth group has appeal to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate in the forthcoming Kogi State Governorship election, Alhaji Usman Ododo, the APC Kogi State Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello and other prominent and stakeholders of the ruling APC to consider the Governorship aspirant in the just concluded APC Governorship primary election, Adebanji David Jimoh as the Deputy Governor of Kogi State ahead the forthcoming November 11th Kogi Governorship election.
In a statement made available to newsmen by the group Cordinator and Secretary General, Engr. Bode Sesan Olorunfemi and Cmrd. Ayo Jamiu respectively appeal to Kogi State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to consider the choice of Adebanji David Jimoh as the Deputy Governor to the APC Governorship candidate HE, Usman Ododo.
“It is obvious, we have been clamoring for power shift to Kogi west for the sake of unity, equity, justice and fairness and for the fact that the Senatorial district have long been marginalized even from the then Kwara state to now Kogi State, we still have nothing to show that we are part of Kogi State in term of development and political power.
Kogi East of Igala people have ruled us from the inception of Kogi State producing late Prince Abubakar Audu as the first executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and Capt. Idris Ichala Wada for sixteen years and didn’t allow the position of the Governor to shift to other part of Kogi State of Kogi Central and West Senatorial district respectively.
By divine intervention which no man could stop, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi Central divinely got the Governorship position since 2016 and would complete two term of eight years come January 2024. Ordinarily, we in Kogi west have put our mind at rest on the convinction that Governor Yahaya Bello would support power shift to Kogi west on the ground that both Kogi Central and West have long been marginalized by our brothers from Kogi East who held unto power for sixteen years, but Governor Yahaya Bello in his own wisdom and convinction want the position of the Governor to remain in Kogi Central on the ground that, it is not yet the turn of Kogi west to produce the next Governor of Kogi State after long persuasion and lobby. It is incumbent on us to quickly make known our appeal for the position of the Deputy Governor to be zoned to Kogi west and Adebanji David Jimoh as the best choice for the exalted office.
We want to use this medium to appeal to Governor Yahaya Bello to consider the choice of Kogi west and the choice of Adebanji David Jimoh as the next Deputy Governor of Kogi State. Recall that Adebanji David Jimoh is the only Governorship aspirant who is not serving under the government of Governor Yahaya Bello but withdrew from the primary election in the interest of the party. Adebanji David Jimoh has since lend his voice to support the APC Governorship candidate HE, Usman Ododo and also directs his supporters across the state to join the moving train for the victory of the APC ahead the forthcoming Governorship election in Kogi State.
We want to appeal to Governor Yahaya Bello to put into consideration the following; that Yagba Federal Constituency are currently holding the Senator-elect in person of Hon. Sunday Karimi. Our brothers in Kogi-Lokoja Federal Constituency are still holding the Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and by information going round, the Minister of State for FCT might be elevated as a full term Minister by the incoming government of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
By this calculation and projection, the choice of Kogi State Deputy Governor is suitable to be zoned to Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency. If our request is considered, the choice of the Deputy Governor to HE, Usman Ododo suppose to come from Kabba/Bunu LGA since our brothers in Ijumu LGA are currently holding unto the position of the House of Representatives elect.
Your Excellency sir, also to put into consideration is the fact that our brothers in Yagba Federal Constituency had in the time past produced the position of the Kogi State Deputy Governor as we have Chief Samuel Akande who served under the late Prince Abubakar Audu and Arc. Yomi Awoniyi who served under Capt. Idris Ichala Wada, while Chief Clarence Olafemi was former acting Governor of Kogi respectively. We believe in fairness, equity, justice and political inclusion from our beloved party. The APC should consider Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency of which Adebanji David Jimoh was a co-contestant for the Governorship primary election should be considered for the state number two job.
We want to equally appeal to the good people of Kogi west in particular and Kogi State in general to come out in their large numbers in the forthcoming Kogi State Governorship election to vote massively for Alhaji Usman Ododo, the APC Candidate for a Kogi State we can all be proud of and as well, proudly call our beloved state. We must vote overwhelmingly for APC Usman Ododo so that he can sustain the legacy of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello come January 2024.
We will continue to move round the state to campaign for the success of our beloved party, the APC ahead the forthcoming Governorship election in Kogi State while we also continue to let our results oriented Governor of Kogi State and the party’s stakeholders to see reason why Kogi west and Adebanji David Jimoh would be the best choice as the next Deputy Governor of Kogi State. So help us God. Amen.
