Former Majority Leader of the Senate and ex-Chairman of the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, has extended his felicitations to Christians in the country on the occasion of Easter.

Easter, a Christian festival celebrated annually marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his death by crucifixion.

Ndoma-Egba, a devout Roman Catholic and Papal Knight of St. Sylvester, said the celebration should be used as a moment of reflection by Christians, while stressing the need for Christ’s virtues of love and sacrifice as exemplified in His salvation of humankind to be emulated.

He called for prayers for the peace, unity and progress of the country.

The ex-Majority Leader of the Senate said: “As we celebrate Easter we should remember the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ our Lord for the salvation of humanity. The miracle of the resurrection is a testament of God’s love and power. We pray that our country is illuminated by this love and the symbol of rebirth, forgiveness and God’s power.”
