Cross River: Queen of Humanity 2024 winner gets N5m, brand new SUV

Miss Glory Tete has emerged as the winner of the second edition of the Queen of Humanity Pageantry initiated by Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, wife of the governor of Cross River State, Apostle Bassey Otu.

According to a report posted on the Facebook page of the Office of the wife of Cross River State Governor, “The majestic grandeur and pageantry of the 2024 Queen of Humanity Naija Cross River State climaxed with the crowning of Miss Glory Tete as the Queen of Humanity 2024.

“Held at the Calabar International Conference Centre and graced by the State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, the Queen of Humanity Pageantry as birthed by the Humanity Champion, Bishop Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, exalts virtues, wisdom, and boundless strength of humanity in the girl child.”

Speaking at the event, the Governor’s Wife, Bishop Eyoanwan inferred that the contestants “embody the essence of our shared humanity, a testament to the power of vision, character, decency and hope,” adding that the girl child is a ” force of nature, a creator of change and a bridge to a future where equity, justice and kindness prevail.”

Emphasizing that empowering the girl child is foundational to building an inclusive and humane society, the Governor’s Wife stated that the young maidens “stand as torchbearers of ethical values, symbols of virtuous living and catalysts for a brighter future.”

According to Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, “our Queen of Humanity 2024 will champion transformative projects aligned with our Humanity Without Borders Initiative… Her reign will amplify voices, torture dreams and foster progress with humanity at its core.”

She lauded the resilience, grace and passion inherent in each of the contestants and urged them to dream and fulfill their dreams no matter the magnitude.

Speaking to newsmen after her coronation, the Queen of Humanity 2024, Her Royal Majesty, Queen Glory Tete excitedly expressed her gratitude to the Almighty God and the Governor’s Wife for the opportunity, pledging to use her reign as Queen to spread humanity and positively affect lives especially the younger generation to uphold core societal values.

While the Queen of Humanity 2024 went home with the star prize of N5,000,000 and a brand new SUV; the first runner up went home with N3,000,000; and the second runner up got the sum of N1,500,000., only. Also, the other 17 finalists, each got the sum of N200,000 as consolation prizes.

The grand finale of the pageantry which saw 20 contestants thrilling the audience with their appearances in different apparels ranging from swim wears to traditional attires and evening dresses also had in attendance, Cross River Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey; members of the Federal and State Executive Councils; Members of the National and State Assemblies; traditional Rulers and many distinguished personalities.
