Natasha Recall: INEC Acknowledges Receipt of Petitioners’ Details

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been furnished with the contact details of the Lead Petitioner in the recall process initiated by the concern Constituents of Kogi Central Senatorial District against their suspended Senator, Mrs Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

This is on the heels of the electoral umpire’s observation yesterday that the recall process must follow due process with the details of the Lead Petitioner clearly spelt out.

In a statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Mr. Sam Olumekun mni, the petition which he affirmed was accompanied by six bags of documents containing signatures collected from over half of the 474,554 registered voters required express description of the address of the Lead Petitioner.

It’s however confirmed that the Lead Petitioner, Mr Salihu Habib has expeditiously provided his contact details which the INEC has acknowledged.

The Lead Petitioner explained that his prompt response to the development is in tandem with the desires of the majority of the people of Kogi Central Senatorial District who are desirous of pushing the recall process to a logical conclusion.
