The House of Representatives member, representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, has embarked on the construction of ten motorized boreholes in his constituency.
Without mincing words, the people had identified the major challenge faced by them as the acute water shortage in the Ajaokuta Steel Township, during the electioneering campaign of the Reps Member
Speaking during flag-off the construction of the boreholes, Hon Abdulraheem, noted that the provision of portable water to his constituents is one of his electioneering campaign promises to the people of Ajaokuta Federal Constituency.
“During my electioneering campaign, I promised my people that I will ensure that they have access to clean water supply. What we are doing today is in fulfilment of that promise. We will continue to expand the supply until the people have enough water.
Recall that several communities in Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, particularly in the Ajaokuta Steel Township had suffered acute water shortage, but can now heave a sigh of relief with the provision of fresh motorized borehole water system, a singular act that will drastically reduced the stress and hardship in the search for water in these communities.
A community leader, Musa Tijani noted that, as a result of the acute water shortage in these communities, children will always go late to school, while their parents often go late to work too in an attempt to use reasonable hours of the morning in searching for water, but he however said, when completed, the story is going to be different, adding that the people are now happy, courtesy of their House of Representatives member.
The benefiting communities are;
Constituency office, Kaduna Estate opposite civil defence office, Main Kaduna Estate, Kaduna Estate close to Imam Hassan mosque and
Dumez city Estate.
Others are, Coca-Cola Deport opp Adelma Estate, PYN Estate, SAE Life camp, NYSC Secretariat/Lodge, New German Camp and
African Camp, all in Ajaokuta Steel Township.
