In the spirit of Eid al-Adha festival, the Accountant-General (AG) of Kogi State, Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko has distributed several bags of rice to residents of Kogi Central Senatorial District as part of efforts to support the wellbeing of the people during the festive season.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Accountant-General noted that the gesture, which she had also extended to other Senatorial districts was in line with governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s ongoing commitment to providing relief and promoting social welfare.

She explained that the rice distribution was aimed at complementing the efforts of the governor in alleviating the economic hardship faced by many families across the state.
While reiterating Kogi State government commitment to economic inclusion, the Accountant General also hailed the DLGs and other Local Government stakeholders for adhering to governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s directive of ensuring that the Distribution of palliatives recently giving out by the State government were carried out fairly and transparently in their various local government areas.
She emphasized that government support during difficult times should not be politicized, but instead serve the collective good of the entire population.
The beneficiaries of the Accountant General’s gesture from Kogi central who gathered in GRA Okene today, expressed appreciation for the timely intervention, describing it as a welcome relief during a period of economic challenges.

They prayed that God should bless Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the former governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Accountant General of the State, Dr Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko, and promised their unalloyed support to the present administration.
