The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia , has approved new appointments into various offices and statutory boards in some Commissions in the State.
Sir Tersoo Kula, mnipr, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said the appointments, which take immediate effect, includes;
1. Linda Ene Agada – Special Adviser on MSMEs/Microfinance.
2. Hon. James Tor – Special Adviser on Politics, Mobilisation & Special Duties.
3. Dr. Shadrach Ukuma – Director-General, Arts, Culture & Tourism.
4. Tivlumun Bulya – Personal Assistant on Benue State House of Assembly Matters.
For the Benue State Pension Commission, the governor has approved the appointment of the following persons as Chairman and members of the Board:
1. Mbajwa Zungwega Nicholas – Chairman.
2. Cmrd. Umaja A. Alloysius – Member.
3. Asen Sambe – Member.
4. Special Adviser, Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs – Member.
5. Commissioner for Finance – Member.
6. Chairman, Local Government Service Commission – Member.
7. Head of Service – Member.
8. Director-General, Benue State Planning Commission – Member.
Relatedly, the following persons have been appointed as the Chairman and members of the Board of the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC). They are:
- Chief Elizabeth Shuluwa – Chairman.
- Andrew Aondofa Chila – Member.
- Ashi Iortyom Donald – Member.
- John Ochonye Oyishoma – Member.
- Commissioner for Trade & Industry – Member.
- Commissioner for Justice & Attorney General of the State – Member.
For the Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), the Chairman and members of the Board as appointed by the Governor are as follows:
- Ande Clement Shianti – Member.
- Anyam Terzungwe Jeremiah – Member.
- Elizabeth Onekele – Member.
- Representative, Ministry of Finance – Member.
- Representative, Ministry of Agriculture – Member
Governor Alia urges the newly appointed officials to bring their wealth of experience, commitment, and professionalism to bear in the discharge of their duties.
The Governor emphasizes that the appointments are part of his administration’s determination to strengthen governance structures and drive sustainable development across the state.
He further calls on the appointees to see their positions as a call to service, assuring that his administration remains resolute in delivering on its mandate to transform Benue State for the benefit of all.
