The lawmaker representing Boki/Ikom Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Hon Victor Abang, has begun a rural electrification project in Yala Nkum Ward with the installation of solar-powered street lights.
A Facebook post by Simon Eban Abang, a Personal Assistant (PA) to the parliamentarian on media and publicity, indicated that “In his bid to improve infrastructure in Boki/Ikom, Hon. Victor Abang, the Member representing the federal constituency in the House of Representatives, has extended his rural electrification drive to Yala Ward in Ikom LGA through the installation of solar-powered street lights. This deliberate intervention is designed to stimulate the local economy, improve security, and enhance social services for residents.
“The project in Yala Nkum Ward follows earlier interventions in Nta/Nselle, Balep, Okundi, Boje, Kakwe, Okwabang, Ashishe, Kakwagom, Bawop and other communities.
“According to Hon. Abang, such initiatives not only highlight his commitment to public service but also reflect his sustained drive to fulfil his social contract and prioritise the collective interest of his constituents.”
The lawmaker who is believed to have demonstrated a strong commitment to community development was quoted as saying that “The energy of the people is the foundation of every nation.” In just two years and three months as a legislator in the Lower Chamber of NASS, he has facilitated numerous projects across Boki/Ikom Federal Constituency for the benefit of his constituents who are indeed pleased with his quality representation.
