As the world commemorates the international peace day, a Rights Activists, Idris Miliki-Abdul, has called on government at all levels to invest more in peace efforts to guarantee a safe environment for the populace.
Idris Miliki, who is also the Executive Director, Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution (CHRCR), Lokoja Kogi also condemned the killings going on in Nigeria, particularly security agents.
He stressed that the need for every one to work for peace in Nigeria, becomes more imperative, considering the serious security challenges the country is facing.
Speaking further, Maliki said “What cannot be achieved on the round table, cannot be realized through the guns or force.
“The killing of innocent persons particularly security officers is not acceptable. We call on the federal, state and local government Administrations to invest more in peace efforts.
According to him, Relevant groups, institutions, both private and public should put heads together for the promotion of a peaceful environment.
