Hon Abang lauds Gov Otu’s N800m agribusiness empowerment programme

The lawmaker representing Boki/Ikom Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives at the National Assembly, Hon Victor Abang, has commended Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State for his magnanimity and determination to fulfil his campaign promises to the people of the state.

Hon Abang, gave the commendation while reacting to the recent approval of the disbursement of N800m to 400 young Cross Riverians by the governor where each of the beneficiaries received N2m as grants for engagement in agribusiness.

“This is a very laudable step taken by our amiable governor. It is a good development for our dear state. Teaching the people how to fish rather than giving them fish. Certainly, the initiative aimed at creating jobs and promoting food security in the state will increase youth participation in agriculture which is good for our state.

“I commend His Excellency, Governor Bassey Otu for coming up with such an impactful programme to promote self-reliance among our youths and enhance economic growth in the state. Indisputably, our performing governor has demonstrated remarkable zeal towards revolutionizing agriculture and making it more appealing to young people. He has made significant strides in the transformation of the agricultural sector of Cross River State,” Hon Abang stated.

The parliamentarian rejoiced with the beneficiaries for the opportunities created for them by the governor with the empowerment, while urging them to ensure proper utilization of the funds for the purpose of the programme to be fully realized.
