The Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem has launched an empowerment initiative, where he distributed relief materials and inspected ongoing development projects in his constituency.

The three day empowerment programme began with the flag-off of a Mega Empowerment Programme designed to support youths, women, farmers, traders, persons with disabilities, and the elderly.

The initiative featured ICT training and start-up grants for young people, business tools for market women, and financial support for vulnerable households.

Farm inputs, motorcycles, tricycles, and deep freezers were also distributed to stimulate agricultural productivity, enhance transportation, and promote small-scale enterprise.

In addition, the lawmaker introduced a ₦10,000 monthly stipend scheme for 200 elderly constituents.

Describing the empowerment scheme as “a defining moment towards economic emancipation,” Hon. Abdulraheem said the items distributed are “seeds of prosperity” aimed at encouraging self-reliance.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for providing an enabling environment for development, citing ongoing projects such as the Ajaokuta Free Trade Zone, the Eganyi–Ebiya Road, and LNG facilities in Ajaokuta.

He also acknowledged former Governor Yahaya Bello for laying the developmental foundation being consolidated upon today.

The event drew traditional rulers, party leaders, women groups, youth bodies, and hundreds of beneficiaries, who commended the lawmaker’s inclusive service delivery.
