The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, on Saturday joined his principal and Governor of the State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu, his wife, Bishop Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, and other family members at the holy matrimony and wedding reception of the Governor’s son, Francis, and his heartthrob, Sylvia.
The twin events, which were well attended, took place at the Sacred Heart Cathedral and later at the Calabar International Conference Centre (CICC). The ceremonies drew dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond, including serving and former governors and their spouses, members of the National Assembly, the Cross River State House of Assembly, top government officials at both federal and state levels, captains of industry, political leaders across party lines, as well as traditional and religious leaders, among others.
Rt. Hon. Odey, who felicitated with the couple and the Governor’s family, described the occasion as a celebration of love, faith, and the strength of family bonds. He prayed for God’s blessings upon the newlyweds and wished them a blissful married life.
