The management of Start-Rite Schools, one of the leading educational institutions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has extolled its Founder, late Mrs Amaka Ndoma-Egba, as it prepares to hold the fifth memorial lecture in her honour on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
The fifth Amaka Ndoma-Egba Memorial Lecture themed: “Beyond Boundaries – Building Resilient Communities for Tomorrow” will be chaired by Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu. Former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, is Keynote Speaker, while the host is ex-Senate Leader and Chairman of Start-Rite Schools Advisory Board, Distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN.
A statement issued by the school management reads: “Today, Start-Rite Schools remembers Mrs. Amaka Lauretta Ndoma-Egba, our Founder, a visionary leader, mentor, and a woman whose compassion and drive continue to shape the identity of this institution and the lives of the children we serve.
“Start-Rite began as her shared dream in January 2008, built on a simple but powerful belief: children thrive when they are loved, respected, and challenged to grow both in character and learning. She saw education not as a system of instruction, but as a platform to unlock possibility. Through her leadership, Start-Rite was established as a place where children would be guided to think deeply, stand tall, act with integrity, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
“Her philosophy was grounded in the conviction that every child has the potential to succeed, and that true learning happens when curiosity is ignited. She championed creativity, innovation, experiential learning, and a culture where students are encouraged to explore ideas and solve real problems. These values continue to inform our curriculum, our culture, and our commitment to holistic development.
“Since her passing on 19th November 2020, her vision has remained the heart of our work. The continued growth of Start-Rite Schools, the milestones we celebrate, and the standards we uphold reflect the foundation she laid. With the support of our parents and the steady leadership of Distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba OFR, CON, LL.D., SAN, Chairman of the Advisory Board, we carry her legacy forward with conviction.
