The Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza has reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to addressing the health needs of all citizens, regardless of their social status.
He emphasized that access to quality healthcare services is a fundamental right for everyone.
Dr. Abdulazeez stated this during an official presentation of relief materials and medical supplies to the State Commandant of the Nigerian Correctional Services, aimed at enhancing the care provided to inmates in their custody
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Momoh Steven, the Commissioner, reiterated government’s dedication to achieving equitable healthcare delivery across all segments of Kogi State, and pledged full commitment to improving healthcare services and access throughout the state.
The commissioner commended the Correctional Services for prioritizing the health and hygiene needs of their inmates and encouraged them to continue their efforts in ensuring effective security and care for the community.
In his remarks, the State Commandant of the Nigerian Correctional Service, represented by the Public Relations Officer, (PRO) of the service, Sesan Niyi, noted that this initiative marks a historic moment for the state, when the Correctional Services will receive such significant support from the Kogi State Government in the area of healthcare for the first time.
He expressed gratitude to the governor for fostering peaceful co-existence in the state and for appointing a capable commissioner, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, to lead the health sector.
