Start-Rite Schools, Abuja, has once again proven why it stands among the nation’s leading academic institutions with its outstanding performance in the recently released West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The 2025 graduating class delivered results that set a new benchmark for the school, marking its strongest outing yet.

Leading the pack is the Head Girl, Ogechi Owokonu Abaribe, who achieved an A1 parallel result in all her nine (9) subjects, placing her among the very best in Nigeria. Collectively, all twenty-two (22) students excelled across multiple subjects, with results showing 69.0% A grades, 25.7% B grades, and 5.3% C grades. More interesting is the fact that 100% of the students earned at least five credits, including Mathematics and English, and 100% achieved a minimum of five distinctions, including Mathematics and English; a true testament to the school’s consistent academic drive.

The triumph in WASSCE follows an equally impressive performance in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), where Start-Rite students scored well above 200, with the highest being 342, achieved by the Head Boy, Chibueze John Nduka-Ajuibe.

This achievement reflects the commitment of the School Principal, Mr. Femi Akinlade, whose leadership has guided the teaching and administrative teams to this milestone. It also underlines the collective effort of teachers, mentors, counsellors, and parents who worked hand-in-hand with the students, embodying the school’s belief that every child’s success is everyone’s business.

For the Chairman of the Advisory Board, Distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, OFR, CON, LL.D., SAN, the results are evidence that the school’s vision of academic excellence is being fulfilled. “From the beginning, we set out to make Start-Rite a benchmark for academic distinction. These results show that the vision is alive, and our students are prepared for the future. Yet, we must not rest on this achievement. The challenge before us is to keep raising standards, so that excellence at Start-Rite is not an event but a culture,” he stated.

Parents and stakeholders have joined in celebrating the achievement, seeing it as a culmination of the school’s commitment to academic excellence alongside its emphasis on character, leadership, and global readiness. With all students now progressing to universities, many securing scholarships both within Nigeria and abroad, Start-Rite Schools, Abuja, has reaffirmed its standing as a true centre of excellence, where today’s results are the foundation for even greater accomplishments ahead.
