Kogi Information Commissioner Is Chief Host 2025 NUJ Press Week

The Kogi State Commissioner For Information and Communication, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo is the Chief Host of the 2025 Press Week of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Kogi State Council.

In a statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja, the State NUJ while describing the Information Commissioner as a round peg in a round hole, said he has repositioned the media sector of the State to it zenith.

According to the Statement, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of the State is the Special Guest of Honour at the Grand finale of the Press Week.

This year’s Press Week Grand Finale is to attract very important dignitaries from within and outside the State.

The Theme for the 2025 NUJ Press Week is; “Kogi State’s Solid Minerals: How Media Can Drive Development”.

The Press Week is an annual event for all working Journalists in the State, provides platform for sober reflection as well as to reposition the Union for effective service delivery.

This year’s Press Week is scheduled to begin as from 19th September, 2025 with the Grand finale expected to hold at the EdgeDrive Hotel Lokoja on the 25th September, 2025.

The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Abubakar Gegu will serve as the Chairman for the 2025 NUJ Press Week Grand Finale.

The NUJ National President, Comr. Alhassan Yahya Abdul and other National and Zonal Officers of the Union are expected in Kogi State for the 2025 NUJ Press Week Grand finale.

Similarly, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Dr. Saidu Akawu Salihu, the Ohimegye Igu Kingdom is the Royal Father of the day.

According to a statement issued by the State NUJ Chairman Seidu Ademu and Secretary Olusegun Ayindero-Oyenibi, said the NUJ National President and other National and Zonal Officers of the union are expected in Kogi State for the Grand finale.

The State Council expressed optimism that as is usual with the Information Commissioner, he will deliver a world class standard 2025 Press Week to the admiration of practicing Journalists and the State in general.
