A bright student of Start-Rite Schools, Abuja, Ethan Ogiehor, has earned international recognition by emerging as one of the top three best students in the Global COBIS Research Skills Competition 2025. The competition brings together outstanding students from across the world to demonstrate excellence in innovation, inquiry, and research.
In an official announcement, the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and GEC Academy praised Ethan for his remarkable performance. Along with his top-three ranking, he received a scholarship for advanced research studies, an Ofqual Level 3 Research Skills Certificate with UCAS points, and special recognition on both COBIS and GEC Academy platforms.
Ethan’s achievement is another significant step in his growing record of global engagement. A member of the COBIS Student Council, he recently attended the prestigious Yale Young Global Scholars Programme at Yale University, where he studied Innovations in Science and Technology. There, he worked with young innovators from across the world, examining ethical questions surrounding Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, fields he is deeply passionate about as an aspiring AI and software designer.
Reflecting on his time at Yale, Ethan said the experience expanded his thinking, challenged his creativity, and deepened his understanding of the role of technology in shaping society. He described his work as a photographer and media team member as an opportunity to capture the energy and diversity of the next generation of global leaders, while contributing to the official documentation of the programme.
