Kogi Assembly Speaker, Stakeholders welcomes, SDP Ajaka Running mate, Abenemi into APC

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf on Saturday, led other All Progressives Congress, (APC) stakeholders to receive the former Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, who is also a former Commissioner in the State Executive Council, Chief Sam Ranti Abenemi into the ruling party.

In a statement by Yabagi Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yusuf described the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Deputy Governorship candidate in the last governorship election in Kogi State as a big fish that is coming to add positive value to the party.

He said, as one of the many ‘boys’ of the former Chairman, having been tutored by Chief Abenemi, he understands the strength of the new entrant who, on his part, understands the rudiments of both grassroots and conventional approach to electioneering.

On his part, the former Commissioner who is also a former Vice Chairman of the PDP in the state noted that he was decamping to the ruling party because of the positive leadership he is witnessing in the state, and the humility of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Speaker of the State Assembly.

He assured old members that his decision to join the party was not to justle for position or deny anybody any opportunity, but that he is coming in to add value and contribute to the growth of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Meanwhile, the SDP structure in Oworo Ward, including the leadership and the structure has been collapsed into the APC.

The meeting had in attendance the member representing Lokoja I State Constituency in the State Assembly, Hon. Bin-Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani, the State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr Farouk Ymd, the Lokoja Local Government APC Chairman, Hon. Bature Maikudi, the former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulrahman Dangana, Ward Chairmen and stakeholder Chairmen of the party in the Local Government.
