Hon. Muhammed Haruna (Ganaja) has emerged winner of the
All Progressives Congress (APC), for Ajaokuta Local government chairmanship election held on sati, after the successful conducted of chairmanship and councillorship primaries using the direct primary method.
Hon. Bello Rakiya was nominated as his running mate (Vice Chairman) for the forthcoming local government election.
Speaking shortly after he emerged as the flag- bearer of APC for Ajaokuta LGA, Hon Haruna Ganaja promised to run an all inclusive administration when elected as chairman.
He promised to build on the foundation already laid by his predecessors, noting that the APC is development driven.
He commended the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and the leadership of the party for providing a level playing field for all members.
The councillorship candidates elected from the 14 wards of the LG through the direct primary option are:
- Ibrahim Saratu Lami – Old Ajaokuta Ward
- Akaaba Sabdat Ozioma – Ebiya North
- Sadiq Aino Ovayi – Pastesti/Abodu
- Sakidu Ismail – Ebiya South
- Momoh Sheidu – Ichuwa/Upaja
- Ibrahim Suleiman – Ogiriri
- Onotu Femi – Omgbo
- Jimoh Ayijimoh – Odonu
- Adubazi Simon Ado – Upake
- Musa Bamidele Saleh – Adogo
- Mikailu Hassana – Adogu/Ogodo
- Idris Rukayat Onize – Badoko
- Yunusa Sanusi – Geregu
- Onotu Ateiza – Achagan
The primary exercise drew party stalwarts and supporters from across the local government.
