Christmas: Anambra Central Senator, Umeh, greets constituents

Spread the love

… Preaches sacrifice, love towards one another

The Senator representing Anambra Central and Chairman Senate Committee on Diaspora Matters and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Senator Victor Umeh, has felicitated his people in the senatorial district and elsewhere on the occasion of Christmas.

According to Umeh who was recently conferred with an award of excellence as the best performing senator by the Anambra State Chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Christmas celebrated in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ and as a reminder of the ultimate aspect of Christian faith, is a time of reflection on the supreme sacrifice and love of God Almighty.

The Ohamadike Ndigbo, a winner of the ‘Responsive representation for Good Governance Award’ presented to him by the Senate Press Corps, said the celebration of Christmas should equally be seen as an opportunity to show kindness, love and concern to the needy and underprivileged in the society.

In his Christmas message, he stated: “It is with a joyful heart that I felicitate with you on this year’s Christmas being the Celebration of the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“This Event however, reminds us of the ultimate aspect of our Faith as Christians, when God gave His Son—Jesus Christ, to be born of a woman—Blessed Virgin Mary for the purpose of man’s Redemption.

“Therefore, Christmas points to us, that supreme Sacrifice and Love of God. It also puts before us, the Opportunity as Christians, to demonstrate Love and Sacrifice towards one another, especially to those in serious needs; sharing what we have with the less privileged in the Society.

“May this Christmas bring to you and your family, a lasting Cause of joy and fulfilment.

“I wish you Peace and Divine Protection throughout the Christmas Season and unto the New Year!”
