The Wife of the Cross River State Governor, Bishop Eyoanwan Bassey Otu has described the Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu as a he for she, who is concerned about the holistic development and empowerment of women in Cross River State across party lines.
Bishop Eyoanwan Otu made this assertion during an interactive meeting with the sociopolitical group that coordinates the activities of women across Cross State, as she expressed her gratitude for the support accorded her office and the State Government.
She extolled the resilience, dedication and doggedness of The Team Mma Adiaha group, inferring that their collective efforts and prayers can further make a difference in making the State better and more progressive, whilst recognising the super roles they played in their emergence into office at the polls.
Appreciating their commitment to the growth of the State, the Governor’s Wife inferred that she sees them as partners, whose ideas can be harnessed to move the State forward and to enviable heights.
Earlier, the Director General of Team Mma Adiaha, Mrs. Uduak Spencer Efem, appreciated the Governor’s Wife for recognizing and accepting the movement as development partners.
She described Team Mma Adiaha as a socio-political group for women across the 18 Local Government Areas concerned with the political and economic empowerment of women.
The meeting had an infusion of a health talk on Mental Health and Stress Management, presented by Dr. Peter Bassey, where the women were told the causes of stress, symptoms of mental illness, consequences of stress and how to manage stress.
Notably, Dr. Bassey urged the women to know their capabilities, avoid being put under undue pressure, find time to rest and seek help for mental care if they notice any sign of mental illness.
The women were also given a Pep Talk on the need for entrepreneurship by Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo, who encouraged the women to explore Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises for self and societal development.
Ntufam Ugbo suggested that Team Mma Adiaha can be clustered in their various Local Government Areas according to their peculiarities and economic viability and they would be rebranded and exposed to business proposal writings, connections to financiers and lots more.
He added that the women can venture into Agriculture as there is an urgent need to promote food security across the nation. He noted that they can also venture into trade and commerce.
The highlight of the meeting was a cultural display to the thrilling of the women.
