Kogi pilgrims depart Muna for Macca 8am Sunday after the last day of stoning at Jamraat

Pilgrims from Kogi State will by 8am Nigeria Time on Sunday depart Muna for the Holy City of Macca to conclude their Hajj exercise.

Upon returning to the city of Macca, pilgrims perform several key Hajj rituals. This includes Tawaf al-Ifada, which is circumambulation of the Kaaba, and Sa’i, which involves walking between the hills of Safa and Marwa. These rituals must be performed after the symbolic stoning of the devil (Rami), the sacrifice, and shaving or trimming the head. Additionally, pilgrims may engage in other acts of worship, such as prayer and supplication, while in Mecca.

DETAIL ACTIVITIES IF THE PILGRIMS UPON RETURNING TO MACCA FROM MUNA

TAWAF AL-IFADA:

This is a mandatory circumambulation of the Kaaba seven times, a symbolic act of worship. 

SA’I:

Pilgrims walk or run between the hills of Safa and Marwa seven times, a ritual commemorating Hagar’s search for water for her son Ishmael. 

PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION:

Pilgrims often spend time in prayer and supplication at the Grand Mosque, seeking Allah’s blessings. 

OTHER ACTS OF WORSHIP:

Pilgrims may engage in other recommended acts of worship, such as reciting the Quran or remembering Allah (Dhikr). 

SHAVING OR TRIMMING HAIR:

Pilgrims complete this ritual after performing Tawaf al-Ifada and Sa’i. 
Farewell Tawaf al-Wida:
Before leaving Mecca, some pilgrims perform a farewell Tawaf al-Wida, a final circumambulation of the Kaaba. 

The source also added ” the first batch of pilgrims from Kogi will be departing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia On 16th June, 2025 for Nigeria , while the second batch will be leaving on 18th June , 2025 In-Sha-Allah.
