The Director General of Kogi State Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation, Mr. Abdulkarim Abdulmalik felicitates with Christians and the entire people of Kogi State on the celebration of Christmas and New Year, congratulating  them for the successful completion of another eventful year.

 

A goodwill message from the DG to the people of the  State says the people have every cause to rejoice and praise God for the blessings they had received in the face of dwindling economic situations in the state and the country in the recent past.

The DG encouraged the people to spread the joy of the season, remembering to share out of God’s provisions with the less privileged and the vulnerable in the society according to the admonition in the holy books.

He aslo assured them of better times ahead as the State Government would soon lay to rest the issue of outstanding salaries to state workers and pensioners; explaining that the pay parade would provide a template for  effective management of the state wage bill.

 

He described the pay parade and aftermath mop up exercise as a turning point for ensuring that there were no further encroachments into government finances in the state.

The DG called on state workers and pensioners to be patient to the end, assuring them that the State Government would pay regular salaries once fraud was eliminated from the system and the state economy improved.

He reiterated that no genuine worker or pensioner in the state would be short changed at the end of the pay parade and mop up exercise.

 

While admonishing the people on peaceful yuletide and new year celebrations, Mr. Abdulmalik enjoined them to be law abiding before, during and after the festive period as offenders would face the wrath of the law.

He charged them on full support for the purposeful leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, while also urging them to use the festive season to pray for the progress of the State.
