The Wife of the president, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has appointed the Wife of Kogi State Governor, Mrs Rashida Bello as the North central coordinator of the first Lady campaign team for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to Mrs Rashida Bello, on Media, Olamide Adesoro, said the group will be chaired by Aisha Buhari herself while the Vice President’s wife Dolapo Osinbajo would co-chair it.
According to her Mrs. Adejoke O. Adefulure, former deputy governor of Lagos, who now runs the SDG and wife of Nasarawa Governor, Mrs. Mairo Al-Makura would serve as Vice chairpersons for South and North respectively.
She added that Hajia Salamatu Baiwa Umar- Eluma would serve as the National Coordinator of the team, while Barr. Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagu, would serve as Dep. Nat. Coordinator, South, and Haj. Binta Muazu is Dep. Nat. Coordinator, North.
Mrs Adesoro noted that the Kogi first Lady is already working round the clock to ensure President Buhari’s victory in the north central zone of the country.
According to her, the president has delivered on his promises in his first tenure, saying that another term for president Buhari would enable him consolidate on the achievements recorded so far.
Adesoro noted further that Mrs Rashida Bello is grateful to the President ‘s Wife and the campaign team for their believe in her capacity to coordinate and preside over the campaign affairs of the North central women in order to deliver on the national mandate and lead the party to victory in the re -election of President Muhammadu Buhari during the general elections in February 2019.
As Coordinator of the North central women Mrs Rashida Bello has assured that she will not let the party down in her assignment.
She also called on all political and religious leaders, in their usual sense of patriotism to admonish their followers to eschew all acts of bitterness and violence during and after the general election.
She maintained that the Buhari’s fight against corruption, insurgency and laying a solid foundation for the nation’s economy have been acknowledged by Nigerias and the international community.
She appealed to the people of the north central region to join hands with the Kogi first Lady to ensure landslide victory for the president in the February election.
