The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kwara on Thursday denied the rumours making the rounds that the Party’s congresses and primaries had been nullified.

The Chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Bashir Bolarinwa made the clarification while speaking with newsmen after he led the state Executives of the party on a courtesy call on the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji lbrahim Sulu-Gambari at his palace in Ilorin.

The APC chairman was responding to an online report that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had upheld the ruling of the State High court that recognised the Ishola Balogun- Fulani led executives of the party.

According to Bolarinwa, it was untrue that INEC had formally written the national leadership of the APC indicating its intention to give effect to an Ilorin High Court judgment recognising the Balogun-Fulani-led executive.

He said there was no judgement nullifying the congresses and primaries conducted by the Oshiomole-led Executives of the party

“I want to tell you that INEC has not recognized the Ishola Balogun-Fulani-led candidates. We should always question the sources of some information we get.

“Don’t forget, I have said it before and I want to say that again, it was the caretaker committee of the APC that was taken to court by Ishola Balogun-Fulani led executive. Now we don’t have a caretaker in Kwara APC”, he added.

“With the royal blessing from Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, we will sit back and any moment from now our campaigns would kick-off big time,” he said.

The Emir earlier in his remark, prayed for the success of the party in its mission and vision for the state.
