Blame your son, the Deputy governor for the underdevelopment of your area , Onoja tells Ibaji indegenes



The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Chief Edward Onoja has blamed the Deputy Governor Elder Simon Achuba for the failure of the government to deliver its mandate for the good people of Ibaji local government area, describing him as an enemy within. .


The Chief of Staff who also berated the Deputy Governor  for gross irresponsibility , however urged the good people of Ibaji to remain confident in the administration of the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, saying that all hands are on deck to bring the needed infrastructural developments to the area.


Chief Onoja who gave this hint during a Town Hall Meeting of the All Progressive Congress (APC) convened by Engr. John Ibrahim Ocheje,  told the crowd that they would be surprised by some of the revelations he was about to give concerning their own son the Deputy Governor whom he tagged “the enemy within.”

He noted with disappointment that since the inception of the Fourth Republic the area has continued to give political supports to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) without any benefit to show in terms of infrastructural developments or the elevation of any of their sons or daughters to the higher position of the state.


Recalling his roles in the nomination and the subsequent emergence of Elder Simon Achuba as Deputy Governor, he revealed that he took many factors into consideration before backing the Ibaji people to produce the “Number Two Position” of the state.


According to him , “Kogi East as a district is under-developed but there are three major Local Government Areas in the district that suffer most.” citing Bassa, Ibaji and Olamaboro to be the three areas, saying that that Ibaji is worst amongst  the most neglected areas.

He said that in his deliberate attempt to favour Ibaji, the Onoja noted that he stood beside Elder Simon Achuba for the Deputy Governorship position so that he might use his position to influence needed developments to the area and also to address the people’s sense of marginalisation.


He emphasiised  that “I supported Elder Achuba for the position of the Deputy Governor’s office in favour of Ibaji against all odds.”


He urged them to pray for themselves and for any of their sons who would not disappoint them if given another opportunity in the future on their behalves.

Disappointed though that Ibaji remains most neglected, he called upon the people to use their PVCs in the forthcoming general elections and vote for the APC at all levels noting that there is no better alternative than to vote the APC-led administration at all levels to complete their good intentions for the interest of the people.
