Barely four days after the Speaker of the Ondo state House of Assembly was impeached, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rita Maduagwu, was on Tuesday removed from office.
She was impeached by 20 out of the 30 members of the House on which is the two third majority as required by law .
The motion to impeach her was moved by Ikem Uzozie, representing Aguata II constituency. He was seconded by Onyebuchi Offor(Ekwusigo constituency)
Maduagwu was accused of financial impropriety, gross misconduct and other sundry allegations.
The mover of the motion, Hon. Ikem Uzozie was appointed the new speaker of the house.Share this on WhatsApp
