Governor Yahaya Bello on Wednesday, commended the Nigerian Navy for the construction of official residence for its personnel in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The governor gave the commendation while on a visit to the construction site where 95 apartments are being constructed for the officers and men of the Nigerian Navy at Kpata , Lokoja.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onogwu Muhammed the governor said he was marveled by the technology deployed by the Naval Engineers in using locally sourced materials for the construction of such beautiful houses.
He also thanked the Navy and their sister agencies in the state for their commitment in ensuring the safety of life and property in Kogi State.
Earlier, the project officer, Commander A O Adejimi explained the importance of the brick wall technology adopted by the Navy which include low cost of production.
According to Commander Adejimi the walls are bulletproof, soundproof and fireproof, adding that the buildings are eco friendly and thermal insulators.
The sector command, CDRE OM Olotu commended the governor for his commitment in ensuring crime-free and secured Kogi State, noting that the security agencies in the state recognised and appreciated the governor for his support towards their operations.
15 units of the 95 apartment quarters are for the officers while 80 are for personnel .
