Chairperson Kogi Bureau of state Pension empowers over 200 persons, as Mrs Hafiza Bello, canvasses support for President Buhari 



No fewer than 200 women, elderly men and youths in Adavi,  Okene and Okehi local government areas of Kogi state have benefited from the empowerment programme organized by Hajia Sa’adat Atimah, Chairperson Bureau of state Pension.


Addressing the beneficiaries during the programme on Sunday at Eika Ohizenyi, Okehi Local Government Area of the State , the Wife of Kogi State Governor, Hajia Hafiza Yahaya Bello charged the over 200 beneficiaries to invest the N20, 000 given to them to boost their businesses.


While assuring those who are not part of this empowerment programme to exercise patient and await for another one that is already on pipeline, Mrs Bello disclosed that she has concluded plan to sink two motorised bore-holes for Eika Ohizenyi community to tackle the perennial scarcity of water during the dry season.

She pointed out that the administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello has reconstructed the Itakpe-Eika-Okene road which hitherto used to be a death trap for road users.


“Other achievements of the Government are progressive engagement of the youths and women, effective security of lives and property of the people, i have  equally carried out several empowerment programmes for women and youths in the area and some other parts of the central senatorial district of Kogi State” she said.


She charged the people of Eika, Kogi Central and Kogi State in general to turn out in their numbers to vote for all the candidates of the All Progressive Congress, (APC), in the senatorial district , adding that government would continue to affect their lives positively.

The initiator of the programme, Hajia Sa’adat Atimah said the empowerment was part of her efforts to put smile on the faces Of the downtrodden to boost their petty trading, urging them to make judicious use of the money, so as to improve their standard of living.


“This empowerment is my little contribution to the modest efforts of the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello aimed at  alleviating the sufferings of the masses in the area” she noted


Earlier, the Okehi Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) Mallam Abdulmumuni Jatto charged the beneficiaries of the empowerment to reciprocate the gesture by coming out in their numbers on Saturday the 16th of February,  2019 to vote for all the APC candidates in the district.

He commended the initiator of the programme and urged other political officer holders in the state to emulate Hajia Sa’adat Atimah in reaching out to the people at the grassroots
