DG, laud information personnel’s dedication to Duty, calls for greater commitment .

The Director General of  Kogi State  Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation, Mr. Abdulkarim Abdulmalik has congratulated information personnel in the state on the  achievements of 2018, urging them to consolidate on the gains of the previous year for a better performance in the current year.

 

In his welcome address and goodwill speech while ushering the staff into the beginning of the new year, the Director General appreciated the efforts of the entire state information team for working hard in 2018, and especially for making notable sacrifices towards successful information dissemination in the state.

He acknowledged that the Graphic Newspaper improved both in content and packaging in the  year of assessment, while also according tremendous successes to the State Broadcasting Corporation and the Printing Department of the Bureau.

He called on the  staff to imbibe the spirit of unity, brotherliness and togetherness as exemplified in the leadership style of Governor Yahaya Bello, which abhors religious and ethnic chauvinism; urging them to use their collective strength to attain greater heights in the  present year.

 

The Director General also charged the personnel on effective  information management in the forthcoming electioneering period, calling on them to be  prepared for greater tasks ahead to ensure free, fair and credible elections.

Earlier, The Permanent Secretary in the Bureau, Mr. Sylvanus Akpama said the maiden meeting of the year was to assess the performance of 2018 and to map out strategies for maximum productivity 2019.

The DG of the State Broadcasting Corporation, Alhaji Ojo Oyila, the Managing Director of “The Graphic”, Pst. Dayo Thomas and the  Director of Information Services, Mr. Bayo Ilori in their separate remarks appealed to the state government for additional staff and better funding of the various departments of the ministry for better output in the current year.

 

The management team commended the Director General for a purposeful leadership which enhanced their accomplishments in the past year, promising him an unalloyed cooperation in 2019 to step up information dissemination in the state.
