FCE Okene appoints Usman new college Librarian

The Governing Council, Federal College of education  Okene , Kogi state has approved the appointment of Mallam Mahmud Nefene Usman as the new College Librarian .

 

In a statement issued by the College Public Relation Officer, Mr jibril Abdulrahaman which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja Thursday , the PRO said the appointment takes effect from February 1st , 2019.

 

The statement noted that the new Liberian until his appointment was the  Liberian of  Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, Jigawa state.

 

The statement further described Mallam Usman as a personality with laudable track record of experience, spanning three decades in Library profession , adding that he rose through the ranks by dint of hardship as Library Officer in 1984 to Chief Librarian in 2005 where he was appointed as Acting Librarian of the Federal  College of Education, Katsina in 2002 to 2009.

Born on 31st  March , 1964 in Muye, Lapai local government area of Niger State , he had his early education at LGE Primary School , Muye in 1971 to 1979 and Government Secondary School , Suleija, 1977-1982.

 

Between 1982 – 1984, he was at Bayero University, Kano were he obtained a Diploma in Library Science . In 1987 – 1993 , he was at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he bagged  Bachelor degree in Library Science .

 

Mallam Mahmud’s quest for higher educational pursuit propelled him to Bayero The Governing Council, Federal College of education  Okene , Kogi state has approved the appointment of Mallam Mahmud Nefene Usman as the new College Librarian .
