Former Ajaokuta LG aspirant, Okekenu tasks people of North Central on Gov. Yahaya Bello’s 2023 presidency



A former chairmanship aspirant on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress, (APC) for Ajaokuta Local government area, of Kogi state, Comrade Salami Okekenu has called on the people of North Central region of Nigeria to rally round Governor Yahaya Bello in his bid to run for the presidency in 2023.

The call was coming against the backdrop of agitation by some section of the region who are agitating for the position of the national chairman of APC, saying that such move was not only selfish but a huge distraction on those agitating that the zone have been marginalized for too long and should be considered for the presidency come 2023

According to him a Yahaya Bello presidency will be of great benefit to the people considering the Governor’s landmark achievements in Kogi state, particularly in the area of security of lives and property of citizens.

“Governor Bello’s achievements in the area of security of lives and property of citizens in Kogi state is not only legendary but second to none in Nigeria. He should allowed to replicate the at the national level.

“Nigeria is currently face with enormous challenge in the area of security. Today people cannot move freely because of kidnapping, banditry, Boko Haram insurgency and other violent crimes.

“Why I Believe that the Muhammodu Buhari led administration is doing his level best, we need a vibrant, energetic, focused, trusted and tested person like Governor to take over because he done it in his State. He has become a model to other states in the country.


According to Comrade Okekenu, since the creation of Kogi state, no government has ever embarked on huge gigantic projects that have direct bearing on human development and economic prosperity like Governor Bello

So I make bold to say without any contradiction that Bello’s indelible legacies will always stand the test of time in the state and beyond.

“The projects, which are equitably spread across the three senatorial districts of the state, represent the value and meaning of democracy to Kogi people and Nigerians, he said.
