Governor Hyacinth Alia, has Congratulated Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor-elect on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), over his victory in the last Saturday’s governorship polls held in Edo State.
In a statement by Sir Tersoo Kula, MNIPR, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Fr. Alia describes the victory of Senator Okpebholo, who scored 291, 667 votes and won in 11 local government areas, to defeat his main rival, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 247, 274 votes, as victory for democracy.
He added that the success of the APC in the Edo State governorship election is an indication of the trust and love the people of Edo and Nigerians in general, have in the policies and programmes of the APC led government in the country.
He assures the governor elect of his support, a robust working relationship and partnership for the progress of their respective states and the country in general.
The Governor prays to God to grant Senator Okpebholo good health and a long political life as he steps in to steer the affairs of the State, urging him to use the victory as a platform to offer purposeful leadership to the good people of Edo State and beyond.
