Group drum support for Hon Ahmed Tijani Damisa for Deputy Speaker of the 9th Assembly 




Stakeholders from Kogi and parts of North Central states has called on the leadership of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) and all newly elected Members of the House of Representatives to consider Hon Tijani Damisa for the Deputy Speakership position of the 9th Assembly.


Recalled that Hon Damisa representing Okene /Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency of Kogi State in the Green chamber, worn election to House for the third time in the National Assembly elections held on Saturday 23rd February 2019 consecutively


In the statement signed by the leader of the group, Haruna Lasisi, noted that the area delivered overwhelming votes for the ruling APC in the just concluded elections.

The group added that it will not be fair for the area to be left out in the scheme of things, noting that the state has never occupy this position since the return of democracy in 1999.


The group appealed to the National Secretariat of the party, the President and all APC leaders to see reason with the groups agitation which it said is a harmless one.


Recalled that the APC leaders led by President Muhammadu Buhari, in it meeting on Tuesday Zoned the Speakership position to South West and particularly to Hon Femi Gbajabiamila who is currently the House leader in the 8th Assembly.

They said that it would only be fair to extend the same gesture to Kogi State and particularly, Hon Ahmed Tijani Damisa, because the state and the Honourable member have been very supportive of the activities of the ruling party.
