The lawmaker representing Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency of Cross River State in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Hon Victor Abang, has empowered 100 of his constituents in the area of fish and poultry production.
This was revealed in a Facebook post by his Personal Assistant, Simon Abang.
According to the post, “In a significant stride towards boosting agribusiness and enhancing food security in the Boki/Ikom federal constituency, the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria, in collaboration with Hon. Victor Abang Abang, successfully trained 100 constituents on fish and poultry production. The three-day training marked a pivotal step in the government’s ongoing efforts to increase local food production and empower communities.
“The training, which spanned three days, equipped participants with essential skills in fish and poultry production. At the conclusion of the program, participants in the fish farming sector were provided with cash grants, fish fingerlings, and fish feed, while those in poultry farming received startup grants, birds, feed, and other vital materials.
‘Miss Sophia, one of the participants, expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity, thanking Hon. Abang for ensuring that his constituents benefit from the dividends of democracy. Similarly, Mr. Mark Nsoja urged fellow participants to capitalize on this opportunity to enhance their economic standing and contribute to national development.
“In his goodwill message, Hon. Abang highlighted his commitment to implementing various training and empowerment programs for his constituents. He reassured those who have yet to benefit that their turn would come soon. He emphasized the importance of utilizing the knowledge, materials, and grants received to improve the economic landscape of the constituency and the nation.
“Hon. Abang also underscored the need for collaboration among stakeholders to ensure economic growth and stability, particularly in these challenging times. He called for a unified effort to restore economic prosperity, urging all citizens to seize every available opportunity to drive national progress.”
