The president of the Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF), Amaju Pinnick has promised to work for the advancement of young talents in soccer beyond the shores of Nigeria.
Pinnick who stated this in Ihima headquarters of Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, during a soccer talents hunt organized by Natasha Akpoti, commended the organizer for identifying with the progress of the youths in the area.
He maintained that Sports, particularly the succer has continue to remain a unififying force in Nigeria, and promised to work for it to attain its full potentials in the country and beyond.
According to Pinnick, his personal presence in Ihima was to identify talents in soccer that can be helped to international limelight.
Earlier the organizer of the competition, Barr Natasha Akpoti, appealed to the NFF to assist the youths to attain their height in soccer.
Barr Natasha Akpoti who hailed from Ihima, is also the senatorial candidate of the Social Democratic party, (SDP), for Kogi Central senatorial district for the 2019 election.
According to her, she organized the competition to bring out talents that will compete with their pears internationally and as well promote unity among the people
At the end of the game, Team Amaju Pinnick came first by defeating Team Natasha Akpoti, with five to two goals.
The winner team Amaju went home with one million naira, while the second position, team Akpoti went home with five Hundred thousand naira.
