King Charles is heading in a “positive trajectory”, according to a Royal source giving an update on his majesty’s cancer diagnosis.

The 75-year-old monarch was diagnosed with the disease in February and has been having ongoing weekly treatment. He at first took a leave of absence from royal duties to concentrate on his recovery but later returned to a full working schedule.

The King and Queen spent the summer at Balmoral amid plans for the couple’s tour of Australia and Samoa. Ahead of the trip, an insider has given an unofficial update on his mystery cancer – and it sounds like good news. The source told MailOnline : “Health has to remain the number one priority, albeit heading in a very positive trajectory.”

Earlier this week the Queen also gave an update on her husband during a visit to the state-of-the-art Dyson Cancer Centre today, where she officially opened the building in Bath. She met with patients, staff, and supporters of the centre, which serves over 500,000 people across the South West.

During a meeting with Suzy Moon of the Macmillan Partnership, who inquired about the King’s wellbeing, the Queen reiterated, “He is doing very well.”

Camilla has been credited with holding the fort as the King and Princess of Wales both were diagnosed with cancer within weeks of each other and took a back step from royal life, while Prince William also concentrated on being by his wife’s side and looking after their three young children.
