——-Says Delegates would decide who will fly our party’s flag
The Governorship ticket of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP), is open for all as the party’s leadership has promised to create a level playing field, saying that it has no preferred candidate.
The State Chairman of the SDP, Alhaji Mouktar Atimah wgi disclosed in a statement to newsmen, said no candidate would be given undue advantage over the others in the quest to fly the party’s governorship ticket.
Alhaji Atimah, disabused the minds of those scared of the rising profile of the SDP to have a break, insisting that the party would allow the best candidate emerge in a free and fair primaries.
Alhaji Atimah says he has no preference for Natasha Akpoti as being alleged, but however ssis, like every other interested aspirant, she would have to go through the process where delegates of the party would decide who flys the party’s ticket, even as he appealed to those having such fears to have confidence in the process as it would be free, transparent and credible.
Alhaji Atimah noted that the SDP is now the new bride of Kogi electorates, little wonder he said mischief makers are bent on creating disaffection within the party’s rank and file.
The State Chairman reiterated the party’s position that the SDP would have its candidate emerge through a process were only the delegates would pick the party’s flag bearer, denied insinuations that the ticket has been foreclosed for a particular individual.Share this on WhatsApp
