Kogi Deputy Governor Cries Out, ‘says my life is in danger .

—as police allegedly withdraws his security details.

 

The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Simon Achuba, has said that his life is in grave danger, following the withdrawal of his  security details by the Kogi State Commissioner of Police Busari Hakeem.

 

Addressing newsmen at his official residence in Lokoja on Sunday he lamented that his security details were ordered to report to Government House on the 15 of February for briefing and he has not seen them since then.

 

He said that he was to travelled home when the ADC to the governor called them for security briefing.

 

According to the deputy governor on getting to Government House, the   ADC to the governor took them to SARS office to. make statement.

” They accused my ADC and Ordely of gun running but they denied the allegation. As am speaking now they are under detention in government house . I informed the Commissioner of Police on the situation but till now he has refused to take any action.

 

“Am a member of the All Progressive Congress I reported my several travails to the national leader of the APC, the President and his Vice. My impress has been stopped in the last one year and no reason was given by the governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

 

” I live as deputy governor in the house without security, I travelled home without police, my life is in danger,” he lamented.

 

“In fact I had to send a text to the CP notifying his of the dangers I and family members have been exposed to, so that he will not say he was not aware. I still have the text with me.

He said that his light and water has been caught off by the state government and presently live in darkness.

 

Achuba therefore called on the Inspector General of Police to call the state Commissioner of Police to order so that his security details can be restore back.

 

In his reaction, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Busari, confirmed the incident, saying that he was informed by the Deputy Governor of the withdrawal of his security details.

 

In his words  “He contacted me and I told him I was going to look into it and am working on it to know what to do. I want to contact the ADC to the Governor why the deputy governor’s details were withdrawn. I spoke to the deputy governor I think this morning that I was going to do something about.

“There’s no problem. He requested for two extra policemen prior to the withdrawal of his details. I don’t know if those two were given to him before the withdrawal of his details.

 

“We post policemen to Government House but I think it’s the ADC to Governor who is the person in charge of security at the Government House. He posts them. There is no problem. We will send two policemen there pending when the issue will be resolved.
