The Kogi State Government has officially flagged off the vaccination of citizens against COVID19 with a pledged that nobody would be deprived from taking the COVID19 Vaccines.
The State Commissioner For Health, Dr. Saka Haruna made the disclosure at the official flag off of the vaccination of citizens on Tuesday in Lokoja the kogi state capital.
The Commissioner added that while no one would be denied the opportunity of taking the Vaccines, but however said it is also the resolve of the State Government not to compel any individual in the State.
The Commissioner disclosed that the State Government received about 16,900 unit of the Vaccines, adding that another 16,900 of Astraneca Oxford vaccine is being expected in the State in a couple of weeks.
Dr. Saka Commended Gov. Yahaya Bello for his proactive measures towards protecting the lives of its citizens, thanked him for making the Vaccines available to people of the State.
Speaking before the commencement of the administration of the vaccines, Dr. Abubakar Yakubu, the Executive Director of Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KSPHCDA), said the state has already taken delivery of about 16,900 doses of the vaccine.
He added that the first line of recipients of the vaccines are the health workers which he said will commence immediately after the flag of.
”The vaccine administration will be followed by the frontline essential non health workers
like the police, military, NSCDC, Custom men among others”, Yakubu said
Highlights of the flag off of the vaccination was it’s administration on some officials of Government amongst whom is Dr. Abubakar Yakubu, the Executive Director of Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency among others
