Kogi Governor’s Wife, Rashida Bello, urges Muslims to pray for peace, stability of the state



Wife of the the kogi state Governor, Mrs Rashida Bello has called on Muslim faithfuls in the state to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir celebration to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and stability of the state and Nigeria.

In a felicitation message to Muslim Ummah, signed by  Olamide Adesoro, Senior Special Assistant, (SSA) Media to the goverbor’s wife on the occasion of the 2019 Eid-El-Kabir celebration, Mrs Bello enjoined them to imbibe the lessons of commitment, dedication and obedience to Allah as was demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience which the Eid-El-Kabir commemorates.

Mrs Bello stated further that the state would only develop if the citizens continued to live in unity, love and show great respect for one another, saying that intolerance, extremism and bigotry, if unchecked, could threaten peace and unity of the state.

The governor’s wife who noted that peace and unity are the greatest assets that should not be taken for granted also called on Muslims to use the period to uphold the spiritual benefit of the celebration by extending hands of friendship and solidarity across all divides and continually live a life of sacrifice and obedience as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim in line with Islamic doctrine.

She therefore urged Kogites to continue to support and pray for the Administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello in every possible way to ensure that the state continue to make steady progress towards the successful implementation of the New Direction Agenda for positive transformation and also pray for a crisis free election in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
