The Peoples Democratic Party Youth Vanguard in Kogi State, has cautioned Sen. Ahmodu Ali, former National Chairman of the Party against causing confusion and chaos in the party ahead of the governorship election scheduled for November.

According to the group, the former chairman should rather concentrate on uniting the Party in the state as an elder statesman, .rather than instigating crisis and disaffection.

In a statement issued by Jacob Mamudu, on behalf of the group, in reaction to the purported disqualification of some PDP and APC aspirants by a committee headed by the Ahmadu Ali led committee, , the youths lamented that the report of the committee fell short of reasonable reasoning, rather it is tilted towards working against the PDP.

The Vanguard said the loyalty of the elder statesman to the party is now no doubt questionable, regretting that the former National Chairman obviously acting a script, seems to want to use his hatchet committee to allegedly disqualify aspirants of the PDP who are most prepared for the governorship race.

While noting that the Chief Ahmadu Ali led committee was actually acting on a pre-arranged script, the vanguard said his report clearly shows that he was working to justify some interests.

The Youth Vanguard further described the Sen. Ahmadu Ali exercise as a covert attempt to give the APC an undue advantage in the governoship election.

The group noted that the committee’s Work is an exercise in futility which it said should not be taken seriously, most especially that it has proven to be one sided, which it said was intended to destroy the PDP.

The Youth Vanguard appealed to the elder statesman to act as one by making himself honourable and to desist from causing disaffection within rank and file of thePDP.

The Vanguard observed that the APC having failed Kogi people in the last four years with nothing to show, no amount of change of candidate as is been planned by Sen Ahmadu Ali, will appease Kogi people.

The Vanguard called on all PDP stakeholders to unite and to rally round whosoever emerges as the candidate of the party in a free, fair transparent abd primary election organized by the party.

Meanwhile, the Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), has distanced itself from the alleged disqualification of it’s aspirants by the Ahmadu Ali led committee.

According to the party, “our attention has been drawn to the latest developments by the Igala elders to disqualify some Governorship aspirants from contesting November election, this is not acceptable to the PDP.
