Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has described the death of a Veteran journalist, Comrade Matthias Omala as an unfortunate and great loss to the profession.
A statement signed by the Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Seidu Ademu Haruna and Secretary, Comrade Olusegun Ayindero-Oyenibi noted that Comrade Matthias Omala has contributed in no great measure to the successes achieved in the Union in the State while in active service.
According to the statement, the one-time Vice President of Zone D would be missed for his meaningful impact at the National and State Levels fostering unity, peace and love among members.
The statement which described death as the end of all mortals, condole with the immediate family and friends of the deceased and prayed God to grant all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of Comrade Matthias Omala as well as grant his soul eternal rest.
