
The Chairman of Nigerian Union of Pensioners, (NUP), Kogi State Council, Engr. Clement Ohida has appealed to Governor Yahaya Bello, to ensure timely payment of monthly pensions to enable pensioners meet up with their domestic obligations.
Engr. Ohida also appealed to Governor Yahaya Bello to initiate more schemes that will make life more comfortable for the senior citizens.
Engineer Oyida made the appeal while speaking with reporters in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
According to him, Pensioners are capable of contributing to growth and development of the state after their service years noting that empowerment schemes particularly in agric sector can can ignite their focus and passion to life.
He emphasized that the Local Government Pensioners are still on percentage payment and appealed for an upward review of their pension.
While praying for success in Governor’s ambition to serve at the national level, engineer Ohida urged pensioners in the state to be supportive of his administration.
