The Kogi State Presidential Campaign Council of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), has confirmed that an unconditional approval has been granted to the council authorizing the use of the Kogi Confluence Stadium, Lokoja for the PDP presidential rally.
The Peoples’ Democratic Party had scheduled Monday, 7th January 2019 for a rally in the state which will have in attendance the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON.
In a statement by the Head of Media and Publicity of the campaign council Austin Okai urged members to take note of the date and mobilized supporters and affiliate groups to the venue.
The statement which reads in part said “It is in furtherance to this that members of the party, elders and stakeholders, affiliate groups and supporters are reminded that the date for the Kogi State PDP rally remains Monday, 7th January 2019 and activities at the venue shall open at 11:00am prompt.
“Beyond an authorization of use of the venue, strong assurances have also be given to the effect that maximum security will be provided at the venue for the duration of the rally.
“The Director General of the campaign council, His Excellency, the Rt. Hon. Clarence Olafemi calls on all members, supporters and lovers of the PDP and it’s presidential candidate, His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar GCON to mobilize and turn out en-masse for the historic rally.
It would be recalled that the campaign council of the PDP in Kogi State had earlier raised the alarm of the state government’s move to deny them the use of the Confluence Stadium to host its rally.
But in a swift reaction, the state government denied the allegation, saying that the Stadium belongs to all Kogi people regardless of political affiliations.Share this on WhatsApp
