Kogi Speaker, Kolawole facilitates 30 jobs for members of his constituency, Trains 155 Youths in skills acquisition.

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole has said  that he was able to facilitate jobs for over 30 graduates in different ministries, agencies and departments   at both the state and national level asides other political appointments to indigenes of his constituency .

 

The Speaker also added that no fewer than 155 youths in his constituency have been trained in different skills of their choice to make them financially Independent.

 

Rt Hon kolawole disclosed this on Saturday in Kabba, at the graduation ceremony of skills acquisition trainees and 2018 constituency briefing.

He noted that the programme was in  collaboration with the Nigeria Directorate of Employment (NDE) stressing that the graduating trainees were empowered with the equipments and tools of such skills they have acquired for them to start up, so as to be self reliant.

 

The Speaker who is currently representing Kabba-Bunu State constituency at the state assembly pointed out that he has sustained a scheme in which 120 youths have been enjoying monthly stipends for more than a year to ameliorate their sufferings.

Aside this, he said that he currently has 15 aides attached to his office, saying that the positions are spread across the 7 Local Government Areas that made up Kogi West Senatorial District.

The Speaker stressed that part of his obligation, he donated N3.5 million which ensured the completion of Ayede-Olle community electrification project that has made it possible for the various communities along the axis to access electricity for the first time.

 

He also disclosed that in 2017, he executed a multi-million naira empowerment programme in which over 320 persons across the 15 wards in Kabba-Bunu state constituency including non-indigenes benefited from.

 

The empowerment items distributed includes Sewing machines, grinding machines, Hair dryers, farm tools and mechanic tools.

 

Others includes Artisans tools, generator sets, microwave oven. deep freezers, laptops and plastic chairs.

The Speaker therefore called on the people of his constituency to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming general election and all candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
