The Kogi State Government has condemned in strong terms, the unwarranted attack on Alh. Muritala Yakubu Ajaka at the Supreme Court, moments after the determination of the electoral litigations involving the Governors of Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa States.
According to a statement by Kingsley Femi Fanwo,
Commissioner for Information and Communications, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo described the conduct of the hoodlums as barbaric, uncivilized and a grave danger to the institution of justice and urged Nigerians from all walks of life to eschew resort to self help.
The statement which read in part said “As a Government, we implore the law enforcement agencies to fish out the perpetrators and make them face the full wrath of the law to serve as a deterrent to others as well as protect the integrity and safety of our court environments across the country.
“We urge all Nigerians to support the path of constitutionalism and unity, which are the core values of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. We all must support his lofty policies and values for the progress and development of our dear nation.
Recall that the candidate of the Social Democratic party, (SDP), Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka was allegedly attacked at the supreme court last week Friday, after the ruling of the justices of the supreme court, where Governor Ododo was declared winner.
Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka had called on security agents to fish out those behind the attack and bring them to justice, to serve as deterrent to others.
